More Information

I always thought keyboard shortcuts (KBS) were commonly used by users, but after meeting the so called average users… well…. i found out that it is not true!

Do you commonly use KBS? I sure do! and honestly, I'm always looking for new ones. So here I made a small list of the 15 KBS that I feel any mac user should be aware of!
But before we start, know that on this list I won't include the common ones (cut, paste, copy, undo, etc…).

So let's start!!

C:
Press "C" on startup to start from a bootable disc.

T:
Press "T" on startup to start on target disk mode (you will do this on the target computer with your firewire cable already plugged in to the host computer.)

MOUSE BUTTON:
Start or restart your computer holding the mouse button, (left button) , to force eject a CD.

SHIFT - COMMAND - U:
Open utilities folder

OPTION - COMMAND - ESCAPE:
Open force quit window

COMMAND - DELETE:
Move a file to the trash.

SHIFT - COMMAND - DELETE:
Empty the trash.

SHIFT - OPTION:
Select text.

OPTION - EJECT:
This combination displays the shutdown dialog. From there you can do the following:

Press Enter/Return to turn off the computer.

Press Escape to cancel.

Press "S" to put your machine to sleep.

Press "R" to restart your machine.

COMMAND - Q:
Close application.

OPTION - CONTROL - COMMAND - 8:
Invert the colors of your screen. (If you ever use your laptop out in the while whit the sun on your screen, this feature can ease up you reading greatly.)

SHIFT - COMMAND - 4:
Take a picture of your screen, after the key combination is pressed just drag the cross your cursor has turned into and once you let go it will take a picture of your selection. You can also press the tab bar after the key combination to take a picture of a window only.

COMMAND - SPACEBAR:
Turn on spotlight to perform a search.

COMMAND - TAB:
Choose one of your currently open applications.

COMMAND - N:
Open a new window, add a shift to it and you will be able to create a new folder in the finder window.

Well! I hope this is useful and if any one has more shortcuts that could be of use then please share with everybody in the comments!
