Now, this rumored phone that Facebook is working on is all speculation at the moment, but I thought it would be a good time to share what I think. We all remember Microsoft's one trick pony. Well, it could do different variations of the same trick, social networking. If you think about it as a whole, it wasn't actually that bad. All of your social network stuff in one place, quick access to contacts, all of the goodies socialites would need. The only thing in my opinion that lead to its downfall was that it was being marketed as a smartphone. People didn't want to pay an extra $30 a month for a smartphone data plan when a feature phone could do everything that the kin could do. If people were going to pay that data plan, they would get more for their money by buying a Blackberry or Android phone. The key to the Facebook phone being a success is how they market it. It would be a good option over a feature phone but if it is going to be portrayed as a smartphone, why get a new phone for something when there is an app for it?
