More Information

I bought my husband Guitar Hero World Tour for the xBox 360, the day it came out on October 27th for his birthday. He played it for a while then had to start hittin the red drum really hard to make it register then finally it quit working all together.

After contacting Red Octane support throught the stupid email system, we were given canned responses of checking that it was plug in, that it had fresh batteries and were placed right etc. We called GameStop where I bought it from. They are not allowed to take them back. Red Octane told us to check the store where we bought it.
Tried calling them again but just kept getting looped around or placed on hold till it got disconnected.
(650) 930-1300 Monday through Friday 10:00AM-5:00PM PST
Finally got a response back to go to the Red Octane warranty request but that just looped us around some more. Once they got that fixed a week later, part of the replacement was that we had to insure and prepay shipping to and from them.

I threw a fit and sent back an email saying that it was crap that we could have to do that. Tried calling again and somehow got through to a human after finding a number to Activision, Red Octane's backer, Phone: (310) 255-2050 Hours: M-F, 9:00AM-5:00PM Pacific Standard Time.

That poor guy had been cussed out all day. Basically he said that Red Octane refuses to pay to shipping since they feel that they are being generous in the warranty since in fact that "We broke the pad by hitting too hard on it". He did say that there was a problem with the manufacturer where they didn't set the sensitivity on 100,000 sets, thus them releasing a "Free" sensitivity tuning kit. http://www.breakitdownblog.com/guitar-hero-world-tour-drum-tuning-k...

He said that we would just need to pay to ship it too but didn't have to prepay the from.

After wards he sent this email:
Hello, I do apologize about the situation but we have tried everything we can to persuade Red Octane. I suggest you ship it any way you can to receive your replacement. If you have any other questions feel free to email me back, it comes straight to me. If you need to call us back just say Live Agent when you get on the phone. I hope this helps. Thank you.

So we had to pay $20 to ship it back to the company through UPS and still haven't gotten it back.
Red Octane has the worse customer support about the issue.
It was his birthday present from too

Some people are talking about a class action against them, since it is crap that we have to pay an additional money for a broken product.
There are a tons of others complaining about it when you Google it.

Looks like Rock Band did get a CAL against them for the drum peddle fiasco and they were way more helpful at first. We got a new one within 3 days after the first one broke after normal usage. But they are still selling the bad sets and will no longer offer the 60 days no reason replacement.

Arrg! We probably won't buy any more Guitar Hero stuff from now on because of this.
Absolutely ridiculous! I hope we actually get it back.
Otherwise it would be a wasted $220!
