More Information

Ok, so I've been using iOS4 on my second gen iPod Touch for a little while now and I have to say I'm very disappointed. I knew I wouldn't be getting most of the new features but I hoped for some more stability and the new e-mail client. Sadly the one thing that I hoped would be nicer indeed has become a living nightmare. The e-mail client is so buggy and unreliable I've gone back *shock* to reading my e-mail on a PC. It's dark times when I check my e-mail on a real computer. E-mails I've read are not marked as read, whole e-mails show up blank... It's really just not usable. I expected more from Apple. Maybe they spent most of their time testing the new software on 3rd and 4th gen devices, but frankly, I want my OS 3.1 back.

I restored my iPod Touch and my iPhone 3GS. The nice thing on the 3GS is that it is fully supported by everything, but what angers me is that apple has yet to release the game center and the new mail as they are not finished yet and there is yet to be a jailbreak for 3GS. As for the iPod Touch 2G, it has some bugs, like a few people said. DO NOT UPDATE YET!!!! YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE TO 3.1 ITUNES SAYS THAT FIRMWARE IS NOT SUPPORTED!!!

I did a wipe and restore. That is old habit from upgrading Windows. ;P

I've seen a number of my friends have similar problems with iOS4. Did you do an upgrade? I would highly recommend a full wipe and restore and setting up your iPod again. This seems to solve a lot of problems with all firmware- as I have not really experienced that many bugs.
Any

According to Apple, 2nd gen and 3rd gen iPods get the upgrade as listed on their website. 2nd gen is supposed to lack certain features such as multitasking.

Thing with Apple is their upgradability, in pretty much everything doesn't last very long.
I don't even think 3RD generation Ipod Touch's Which have pretty much the same hardware as the Iphone 3G can get the Update, and if they did somehow, It's not going to work properly. Becuase apple wants you to shed money on the new phone like that right. I have it on my iPhone 3g, it's uh. W/e really to be honest nothing is better. (thats just my opinion) What i wanna no is how u got it on ur ipod touch, cus i dunno how to get it on mine
