You know what really pushes my buttons? Jumping on a friend's computer that is bogged down by too many processes that are running in the background or system tray of their machine. They want to know why their computer is acting so much slower than when they first purchased it.
With all the programs that are up for download these days, its easy to fall into the trap of unused start-up programs and wasted physical memory. Well here is a video that will help explain (in plain English) how to use the task manager in Windows 7 to "hunt down memory hogs" and help speed up your computer.
I like to set most of my non-essential services to Manual not Automatic start, probably about 3/4's of them in Win7. Black Viper or any other good tweak page makes it easy to determine what must be running and what can wait till you need it.
that would have been very helpful if I hadn't been doing that all week on my mac, lol tried saving a photoshop document and kept running out of memory, but these things happen when your on a laptop (and it's a huge document)
