Life is what you make it. Wait what?

That old saying. Only 18 years old and let me just say i miss being even younger then i still supportively am. If i could back and start over to fix some of my past wrongs and how i handled and did things i would. Every bodies got at least one thing they wanna go back in fix or re live all over again right? Some people never forget, some people forget. Some people struggle through dark periods of their life, some get out of it happy as hell, and some struggle to get out like hell. For instance i'm 18 years old, and I've only had 1-2 jobs during high school, i was held back in grade 1, so i have just finished my grade 11 year. Surprising isn't it, i should be long since graduated by now, and all my grades and everything are just perfect. Heh jeez, boy do my parents wish they could go back and fix that one. I'm spending my summer vacation trying to find a job, and i just feel so WORTHLESS, i find myself complaining often, but complaining about not accomplishing something just get's you no where, so i do my best
not to do much of it.

Sometimes i like to just utter out the words "Life sucks", and i often get the response back that Life is what you Make of it. But what if it were the other way around, what if your life is supposed to end up like this, Life made this for you, and you have no control over it.

Any thoughts.

I see what u mean. Yeah life is what u make of it, but if that where 100% true everyone in this universe would live splendidly, happy go lucky lives. And so with that said I also believe in Faith & Destiny.
Destiny... it is what it was gonna b
Faith... believing all will work out

This is my favorite prayer if I may call it that.

Work with the things you have control on. Understanding that complaining accomplishes nothing is a very good start. Align your thoughts with your feelings : focus on things that make you feel good and do your best not to mind the rest. Be appreciative of what's good in your life. Be appreciative of what's good about you. Don't let circumstances dictate your worth. Every single thing in the whole universe has worth, it's only a matter of recognizing how to exploit it...

Be clear about what you want to accomplish and reach for it, working with what life gives you. There will always be a way forward. Find yours and move...

I have a friend of 30 years now, and he has always been a "complainer". He suffers more from that frame of reference on life that any of his friends who has to listen to him. It forces him into a kind of isolation from others that he seems to find a comfort zone within. The brain is an organ that can be trained, cognitively, to be more positive. It is worth the effort to challenge yourself, and the attitudes that you hold firm, so that you will have new options for new directions, so that life is more rewarding for you. Usually, to begin with, it means that you have to learn more about yourself and using reflections of peers, etc. isn't a good standard. All of life runs in various stages, which is sometimes typified by your advancing years, but more often by specific events that promote change [sometimes against your will]. So, incorporate into your life some very knowledgeable people who are professionally trained to give you the best information, so that each stage of change in your life becomes a challenge, rewarding, etc. and the pain of getting there is soon forgotten. Some of these 'counselors' can carry you for a few years [checking in with them maybe every few months...I'm not talking about a lifetime of therapy, but a lifetime of 'life-long learning' using positive minded and realistic mentors who are great sounding boards and use their 'advice' cautiously, so that you are the main concern not their ego]. When I was your age I began searching out these types of people/mentors, because I had no parents to guide me and I was hell bent on survival, but also I was a bit dangerous to myself, because I tended to overdo things [nickname: "Bulldozer"] which caused me to hurt myself at times. Really, the Best of everything for you!

When I was about 16 someone introduced me to Christ and wow what a difference in purpose and direction for my life. Love others first, put your needs behind others. Complete peace, forgiveness, and purpose. Now, I have to do my part in maintaining my relationship with God but He is always faithful and forgiving of my failures. Luke 10:27

I don't want to "offend" anyone with "religion" but when talking about the purpose of life, this is mine. I feel good about where I am in life and just wanted to express my thoughts.
Thanks

I totally see what you are saying. People always say that about life, but what the hell are you supposed to do when all the cards are not in your favor at all....
Well there is only one hope in the mess... when you are at your last and you have hit rock bottom... just know one thing... The only way from there is up....
So you future is going to be better if you believe it and work towards it.

Hey bud life is not that bad.

You’re only 18! You’ve got your whole life ahead of you still. Do something for your loved ones, family friend for your country even.

When you’re out of a job and looking for one I know your spirits can be low.

Chin-up pal I hope things improve for you.
