Yes, indeed you can use music for meditation.
I do this all the time. When i'm full of stress i listen to classical music on the itunes radio.
This helps me relax and brings me in a calm state. I also start writing ideas for new music that i myself compose. And before i know it, i'm calm and i'm busy not thinking about the thing i was angry with.
This can help you a lot of times.
I find myself doing this a lot...
