With so many people Online networking these days it is sometimes forgotten that you still need to protect yourself in real life while on the Internet.

These are just a few tips to make sure you and your loved ones stay safe while using the wonderful world of Online Networking.

1. Do not give out your personal information to anyone on any site (address, SSN etc...)

2. Do NOT status update EXACTLY where you will be irl (alone). (there is always the exception for group meetups, events and such)

3. At an early age teach your children about networking Online. We all know that they are going to sign up for Facebook like sites well before you want them to so teach them now how to use these sites.

4. Do not meetup with anyone from the Internet alone and in a place you are unfamiliar with.

5. Know that Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter and other Social Networking sites are not going to send you emails asking you for personal information. Also check the email address that they come from. Facebook@gmail.com is NOT a Facebook authorized email and did not come from the company.
