Geek Out!

More Information

Never will there be an all in one solution for repairing an infected computer. You must have a great arsenal of utilities that can take care of what another program may miss or isn't as specialized as another. Some of the tools I use are . . .

Avast

SuperAntiSpyware

Hijack This

Glary Utilites

Combo Fix

MalwareBytes

Dial-a-Fix

MsConfig

Revo-Uninstaller

Google (I use this resource to research what the problem is just to understand some of the infections that are infecting the computer and understand where I need to focus more on to ensure my customers get the best and honest service)

I have a lot more tools but these do a great job and I am always on the look out for superior applications.

Kaspersky is one of the best I've been using it for over a year now.  One thing I like about it is that it doesn't have loads of pop up's when it is not sure about something.  It will only pop up when something is dangerous. the firewall is very good as well.

I use Kasper sky Internet Security 2011, and so far, so good. The reason i don't use "AVAST" is that, if it can't clean a virus, then it deletes the whole file. And i also use Google for the very same reason you use it to. I right now downloaded CC Cleaner.

revo uninstaller is good isn't it I used that to get Norton off my PC.  It just wouldn't go I has trying to install Kaspersky because Norton had failed to do it's job.  After trying to remove it from add remove program there was still some kind of conflict.  I put Revo on and it got rid of a lot of registry entries that were stored away.

Add Spybot Search and Destroy to your list, and keep its software and spyware information list up to date. Same with the other utilities.

If Security Essentials or Malwarebytes doesn't fix it, it's time to reinstall Windows. Typically, that gives the best overall experience anyway since the years of cruft gets blown away in the process.
