More Information

In a follow up to my recent blog post BING! put to a simple test. I had come across a page made by Michael Kordahi for the purpose of finding out which search engine you prefer without the branding.

The concept is simple. We are a society that has been "brandwashed". Do you tend to purchase objects based off of who made them? Would you buy an obviously inferior item just because it had your favorite brand name? Did you buy an AppleTV?

Micheal Kordahi's BlindSearch aims to strip away all the branding of three major search engines (Google, Yahoo and Bing) and display the results in an unbiased fashion.

To use it is easy. Simply go to his website, enter your search query in the top box marked "Search For:". The results open in three colums below and clicking on a result opens new tabs. So you can click away and see which set of results worked best for you without navigating away from the main search page. When you are done just click the gray button labeled "Vote for this search engine". And the search engine names will be displayed.

I really got to hand it to Mr.Kordahi on this one. The site loads fast but does have some bugs as he notes.
