Technology should make people’s life comfortable. It should make our lives easy, shrink the world, connect people seamlessly 24/7, make money out of, Act as a seed for future
development. This, i believe can be achieved only if people start
embracing open source.
The main reason why apple is such a flop in india and china when
compared to US and UK. a common man in India knows what to buy, what
features to look for when buying any gadget. even a 2nd grade student
has his list of things which should be present in any gadget he buys.
THEY KNOW THEIR GADGETS. APPLE wont bend down. MICROSOFT DIDN’T. they
kept prices high and eventually everyone in india and china runs pirated
OS in their computer. who is the loser?
Yes Microsoft makes millions of money in profits but imagine how much
they could have had they captured the Indian and Chinese market. Reduce
the price to the level that matches with the country’s economy and sell
it. People will but it.
Apple and Microsoft has been targeting people who are illiterate on
technology and making products, which are really good… no two thoughts
about it, but selling it for a heavy price. They are tied up with few
other companies like amazon, universal etc and sell music, movies, books
through them. They are blocking every single way in which a user could
get cheaper products. Microsoft has built itself into this huge giant
and every other developer is developing software for windows. This
creates one way development. There is no scope for a wide development
which would actually fulfill what a user wants.

When someone buys their products, they actually are paying around 40 % extra money for all those invisible, hidden stuff that he is never gonna use ever in his life.
If there is a problem with the OS Microsoft created and sold it to me,
it is their responsibility that they correct it for free. IT IS THEM WHO
CREATED IT.
WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY THAT EXTRA THOUSAND BUCKS ON THE 1 YEAR
WARRANTY?
APPLE ? its worse. They even make their own hardware and their OS
installs only on that. Thats good. no complains, but what do you price
it? something which a normal person with an average salary cannot
afford.
HOW MUCH MORE CLOSED CAN YOU GET? You are trying to shrink yourself as
much as possible in this rat race. you are neglecting your potential
users.

What happened when apple decided to publicize the API? people started developing apps for iphone and itouch. Wasn’t that the most profitable thing for apple? that has in turn skyrocketed the sale of i phone and
itouch.

It’s only when you try to reach to a common man, develop technology which would benefit him, you would become a force to reckon with. The same reason why social networking websites are earning like never
before. That is accessible to everyone. everyone uses it, posts in their
reviews, you change depending upon the reviews and you develop.

THESE ARE ALL DONE PERFECTLY BY THE ONE COMPANY NAMED ”GOOGLE“

What GOoGle does is super cool. Earn money from advertisements, sell its users profile to companies who would like to send the ad’s depending upon a user’s specific interest(which is calculated with the
users web history, what he commonly searches for, clicks on etc). There
are lot of privacy issues with it is what every one says, but according
to me, unless someone accesses your inbox and manipulates your contact
list, there is no privacy issue and i have never heard that happen till
now. GOOGLE is protecting everyone’s privacy more than anyother company.
When facebook allowed everyone to view others photos and wall posts and
basically anything on a profile, ORKUT closed on all the privacy issues
related with it before.

GOOGLE listens to it users. They have released a lot of products which failed but still that didn’t stop them from bringing in new stuff. And what more? they give it for free. they know how to earn money with
it and we users don’t even have to know it.
FREE GPS, FREE MAIL, FREE POP and IMAP, FREE ANDROID OPEN SOURCE OS for
MOBILE, FREE WEB BROWSER which is actually better than anything else out
there, FREE DNS SERVICE, FREE WIFI in airports, FREE DOCS, SPREADSHEET,
ONLINE PDF READER, PRESENTATION, CALENDER, SOCIAL NETWORKING, BLOGS,
MICROBLOGGING THOROUGH BUZZ, LABS which has millions of apps and i can
keep adding on.
Google listens to its users. For an eg, they introduced BuZZ a few weeks
back and there were lot of features which were annoying. people posted
their reviews in google’s official blog and they removed those annoying
features.

My question is, WHY SHOULD GOOGLE, WHICH IS ALREADY MAKING BILLIONS, LISTEN TO PEOPLE AND MAKE CHANGES ON A PRODUCT WHICH THEY ARE NOT EVEN SELLING TO THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE ASKING FOR A CHANGE?
Thats what i call a DEVELOPMENT on the right way. I hope they continue
to do that and support OPEN SOURCE through android.
I love google nexus phone. i just love it. It is OPEN. no WINDOWS to
lock you in and you get to eat lot of fruits other than just an APPLE.
VARIETY IS THE BUZZ WORD TODAY AND only the company that provides it to
their users would win their hearts as well. three cheers to google and i hope they keep
moving forward.
