Today Apple held their event and it was magical. To start off Apple were discussing the mac developers and how they were growing rapidly. Mac is now number one for customer satisfaction, number one for customer support and number one for reliability. Also there are now 318 Apple retail stores, so Mac's are getting extremely popular. First they started talking about ILife 11, it contains the same programs as ILife 10 but there are some changes. Apple showed us 3 programs from ILife 11 and the first one is "IPhoto 11". In IPhoto 11 there is full screen menu mode, and social network enhancements, new slideshow templates, able to email photos without leaving the program and the creating of books is a big leap. Firstly is your able to view albums in fullscreen, it is really fast, smooth and it looks stunning. There is a new map feature which shows you where you took the photos, the awesome feature here is, if you click on of the pinpoints and select slideshow your able to view a high detail presentable slideshow, and will zoom in to the location on where abouts you took it. Your able to acquire your photos from social media sites such as Facebook or Flickr and put them into a sleek and stunning slideshow as well. Apple demonstrated some holiday slideshow templates such as a christmas template, this template was very festive and had music which fitted in nicely with the presentation itself. Also in IPhoto 11, Apple added a nice feature which allowed you to send photos via email within the program, also when you wish to send this email, you can choose a template which could be a colleague or a postcard, so yet again very user friendly. Another feature which is expanded on is the making of photo books, there are now more designs which are very nice and they look great, you can also make cards which yet also has many stunning templates. Second thing Apple showed us is IMovie 11 is the new audio editing, one step effects , people finder and new themes such as sports. In audio editing you able to see sound waves, your also able to turn the volume up or down, by clicking and dragging up or down on the sound waves. You can also create audio segments and can be turned up or down again by clicking and dragging up or down on the sound waves within that segment. They also demonstrated audio effects for example a robot sound effect. Now to move to the video side of things, you can now create segments within a clip and add "One Step Effects" these can be a instant replay or as Apple demonstrated and clip freezing then fading out. A awesome feature Apple have included into IMovie 11 is "Movie Trailers". Your now able to choose from 15 new trailers themes to create a trailer, the making of this trailer looked very simple, first you will need to select the clips you wish to use, next fill in a information sheet which is located the the left hand side of the IMovie window, the information you need to fill out is basically is the title of the movie, the cast, the credits and other information, then when you have done that process you can get clips from each person and drag and drop them into a time line, the shots can be action, medium, close up or group shots, Apple used all of those in the demonstration, after you have done that your done simply save and play. The last thing Apple Showed us was Garage Band 11, it didn't look like anything that majorly new was added but some new lessons for piano and guitar did appear in the program. One of the new features included in Garage Band 11 was "Flex time", this feature allowed you to extend some instruments sound wave within a song such as a guitar, Apple also tweaked its UI so its even more cleaner and fast to use. Apple announced that ILife 11 is available today with every new Mac or can be upgraded for $49. Apple then went on into Facetime, and the amount of devices with Facetime that were sold in 4 months the figure was 19 million which is very good going i reckon, they also told us that it is going to be out for the Mac and then demonstrated it, and this time no bad connection which was good to see, also Apple realest the Facetime app for Mac as a beta and is now available on their website. Then after that they told us about "Mac OS 10.7 Lion" this was known as back to the Mac, this is because the IOS was developed of Leopard and Snow Leopard and the IPad os was developed and was improved of the IOS, however they wanted to complete the circle as it was by going to make some features in Lion which where similar in the iPad and iPod Touch/iPhone operating system such as fullscreen apps. Apple then when in depth to tell us what is going to be new, so firstly we got told that there is going to be a mac app store which has a very similar UI, by that i mean it has categories and top 25 list just like the iPad and the iPod Touch/Iphone's Appstore, when you download a app it goes straight to your dock, the apps just take one click to download and update. Then Apple demonstrated LaunchPad, this program is like the home menu on a iPad iPod Touch/iPhone, you can move apps by dragging and dropping them any where within the menu, its has a nice multi touch experience so if you have a magic mouse you can swipe left or right just like on the iPad, iPod Touch/iPhone, LaunchPad is fullscreen so thats also nice. Then demonstrated was Mission Control, this basically has a nice swipe feature and can organize your desktop easier and hopefully should keep it clutter free. One More Thing... there third piece of biggest news is the new Macbook Air's, these new little puppies are very thin at a thickness of 0.68 inches that tappers down to 0.11 inches which is incredibly thin, it also ways 2.9 pounds and has a full size keyboard and a glass multi touch trackpad, its still the 13.3 LED backlit display but its now 1440 x 900 pixels which will look stunning, the only disappointing thing is it has a Intel core 2 duo processor, the graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 320m, there is even more instead of having a hard drive, it has solid stat storage which looks exactly like a Ram Stick, this solid state storage is twice as fast and is 90% smaller & lighter its also known to be reliable. The Macbook air has no optical drive but its ground is gained because its battery can last up to 7 hours of web time and 30 days of standby time, as well as all this its logic board is small and in this thin thing there are 4 batteries, it also has a Facetime camera but is still the same as a isight. If that wasn't enough for you it has a little brother which is 11.6" and its resolution is 1366 x 768, its battery last for 5 hours on wireless and yet again 30 days on standby. The start price for the 11.6" model is $999 for the 64gb model, but if you wish to have more you can upgrade to 128gb for $1199. For the 13.3" it starts at $1299 for 128gb or yet again you can upgrade for 216gb for $1599. The new Macbook Airs are now on shelves now so be sure to test one at your local Apple store.
