USB Storage Support Now Available for Xbox 360

Finally the Xbox 360 supports one of the simplest things, that most computers have supported for years! You can now plug a USB thumb drive or any USB storage device into the USB port on your Xbox 360 and store your game saves or downloaded content. Although it is not a revolutionary concept, it should give people more organization and a little more storage room to saves their games or download content. However the Xbox 360 will only support up to 16GB of USB storage space, so you might need to partition if you have a really big storage drive. You should also be able to save games to a thumb drive and then take them with you to another Xbox 360.

So if you have been looking for a little more storage space for your Xbox 360, don't pay a lot of money for a new Xbox 360 hard drive, go out and get a USB storage device, trust me you will save yourself a lot of money! That's all for now, and happy gaming.

It probably took so long because any and all connections between a game system and a personal computer allows another way for hackers to mess with the system. Microsoft was probably trying to patch any holes they could find to prevent people from editing the software of the 360 using the new USB Drivers. One small edit to a save file, the memory overflows, the OS crashes and boots out to the bios where the edited save file runs a program that makes a small edit to allow for any CD to play like an official disk.

Okay, maybe not that extreme, but it's been known to happen with both Sony and Nintendo so I don't doubt that homebrewers are working hard on Microsoft, too.

Nice! Why did this take so long? In any case, happy to hear it.
