Today, I went to pick up some contacts lens. The place was closed with a sign on the door saying they had gone to lunch and would be back in an hour. Woo hoo... they did not say when they left. I felt a bit put out because I made a special trip.
However, I decided to drive further up the street to another store that I had not been to in a while. On the way, I saw a sign. It said 70-80% off....store closing. This was an advertisement for a grocery store. Wow, was the first thing that I thought. It would never have occurred to me that the store would ever close.
Anyway, I drove up there and went inside. The first person that I saw was my grandson with his other Nana. We chatted for a bit and I shopped. Amazing. Everyone knows how expensive good coffee is today. I bought coffee at 70 % off of the regular price. Eggs were 32 cents per dozen. I needed an expensive mop head. Only a $1.80 cents. I could go on and on. Today was the first day that they had things marked down so low.
I had planned to pick the lens up several days ago but didn't. Today was when I was suppose to go and the contact store was suppose to be closed when I got there.
So, wrapping this up, I could have been very upset with the eye glass store being closed and come home. But, instead, I decided not to allow it to bother me and to just take a bit of time to goof off. As it turned out, what I thought was bad at first, became a wonderful blessing.
Such is life many times. The things that we think will be terrible can become something truly great. Like losing a job. We might think the world has ended but we may end up with a job that we simply adore. Just stay positive and allow wonderful things to come your way. Being negative has never gotten a person anywhere other than in the dumps.
