I'm a fanboy for Linksys. I've used actual Cisco gear in the past and I have had zero issue with their cheaper home versions supplied through Linksys. Extremely easy set-up and I've had zero issues running my mac, windows, and linux systems simultaneously on them with heavy draw inbetween all the systems. Plus, if you get bored you can download the WRT54G version of Linux for it. Really neat, turns a 60 dollar piece of equipment into a VERY respectable piece of hardware, with not more than a reflashing of the bios.

Not blasting you, Cookenstein, but I'd stay away from Net Gear, as they have a problem with their boards, and tend to cause download problems with any file larger that 5 meg. I've worked on Computers for 42 years, and I've found the most reliable to be either Linksys (made my Cisco) or Belkin (this one has the best signal consistency up to 100 or 150 feet). If you're concerned about signal strength, I'd get one that boasts boosted signal strength, or use a parabolic antenna fixture. Here's a link to a video on how to do so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0uYtm-b3O4

i Would use D-Link. Pretty much Plug-N-Play. last a long time, if you're looking for something specific i recommend the D-Link 655 as the highest of quality, has a USB port which can be used to share a printer on the network, and is one of the fastest for data transfer data connections http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127215&...

But if you're just looking for something to give a good wireless connection, something simple...

Right now I have a Linksys WRT54G flashed with DD-WRT and I love it however it is an older one so it's just wireless G if I were you I'd go with a wireless N router since you will get a faster connection assuming you have wireless N cards.

I use a netgeat G router myself . I have 5 computers running off of it and I have had no problems with it . I own a 3 bedroom house and all rooms work the same .I have metered the signal and it's the same all throughout the house . It's security protected so that no one can use it and lock me out of it . The hackers have ways to lock you out of your own router if you have one not secured. But you have the upper hand you can turn off and reset . Also netgear is really nice to talk to about tech questions . I highly reccomend netgear .
