Why is there no point on buying today's Macbook Pro?

A lot has happened within the hardware scene in the past few months. We have seen the release on Intel's latest mobile processor's that leave the previous generation in the dust. We have also seen ATI release the 5000 series in mobile form. Offering a truck load power to various multimedia activities in your laptop.

This is why I ask myself. Why hasn't Apple adopted these changes and adjusted their products accordingly?

I know of rumor's that they are updating the Macbook and Macbook Pro lines "soon." But why has it taking them so long?

Sure there is a chip shortage, but still.

But I suppose it is Apple, they know what they are doing.

So, do you think there will be an updated line of Mac's? Does the Macbook Pro need an update or am I just being picky on my spec's?

C'mon leave your opinion in a comment(s) below!

Thing is technology changes so fast, by the time a laptop comes out new changes will be round the corner straightaway. I got a new Macbook Pro last September but I'm ok with that. We'll see a new change later this year, so up to you whether you want to wait or not. Unfortunately that's how the market is.

Thank you for your opinion gordon. Also that term means that the OS does a lot more for less.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Gordon, I think Apple tends to trail in the hardware scene because OS X does a LOT more with less. This was pointed out to me by a very Pro Apple geek.

Yeah I agree. However, I don't think it would be a cost issue because I see cheap dell's with an i3 and i5 CPU. Maybe they are testing different combinations of hardware?

For awhile it's been rumored that new ones are coming out soon. I'm sure they'll update the models soon but they still have Core2Duo's in more of their other consumer computers so they need to almost update their whole line of computers, not just the Macbook Pro's! It could also be a cost issue too but I doubt that is the case.

Yeah I thought that was the case too, I am just getting impatient. Thanks for the comment. I want to know when, how hard is it for Apple to set a release date. I am sure their current technique kills millions.

New MBP will be out soon (hopefully). They just want to make sure everything runs perfectly and not rush something together that won't run good.
